Marge Ellen Akins, 84, Oblong, IL passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015, surrounded by her family.
Marge was born November 18, 1930 in Robinson, IL. She was the daughter of Ethel (Shaw) and Guy Taylor. Marge married Ralph E. Akins on March 26, 1949 and they were married for 66 years. She had formerly worked for Heath and Sons and Robinson Electronics. Marge enjoyed her special cat “Tom”, gardening and was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Pacers. She was a member of the E.U.M. Church of Oblong, IL. Marge was a loving wife and especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marge is survived by her husband Ralph Akins, of Oblong, IL; three sons and daughters-in-law Roger Akins of Gilbert, AZ; Bradley and Emily Akins of Indianapolis, IN; and Scott and Charlotte Akins of Oblong, IL; three daughters and sons-in-law Rhonda and Larry Webster of Newton, IL; Kelly Piersall of Stilesville, IN; Cindy and Edwin Zwilling of West Liberty, IL; 21 grandchildren: Aaron Akins, April Akins, Joshua Akins, Jacob Akins, Joey Petitjean, Jamey Webster, Jennifer Harvel, Jeana Boehl, Julieann Richards, Brady Akins, Johnna Bautista, Anthony Akins, Nina Raymundo, Norberto Raymundo, Andrew Pierall, Ellen Siddons, Janel Piersall, Paul Piersall, Taylor Zwilling, Ethan Zwilling, and Michael Akins; 32 great-grandchildren: August Akins, Oscar Akins, Cooper Akins, Makenzie Petitjean, William Petitjean, Alex Petitjean, Jacob Petitjean, Conner Webster, Caylie Webster, Landon Webster, LouEllen Harvel, Lawrence Harvel (due in July), Carson Boehl, Isabella Akins, Morgan Akins, Cassidy Akins, Sage Akins, Cody Bautista, Shaelyn Bautista, Kyler Bautista, Lainey Akins, Kelsie Akins, Chloe Akins, Kyle Piersall, Kendall Piersall, Daley Siddons, Levi Siddons, Kellie Siddons, Colin McMahon, Brayton McMahon, Lukas McMahon, Cameron McMahon, and Della Piersall as well as several nieces and nephews.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Artie Taylor and Russell Westall; seven sisters Reva Brownfield, Nina Brunson, Norma Dart, Alene Black, Pauline Taylor, Lois McKimmey, and Joanne Good; daughter-in-law Nelly Akins; and son-in-law Paul Gregory Piersall.
